Energetic jazz music and top notch service!
The Roxy Hotel is a spectacular hotel evoking a 1920s vibe with its classy decor, lively jazz music, and sophisticated ambiance. This hotel is the ultimate destination for lovers of music, film, and art.
Nestled in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City, this hotel is the perfect place to stay to avoid all the tourists that crowd other NYC neighborhoods such as Hell's Kitchen and the Meatpacking District. It's conveniently near a Metro Station making traveling around NYC very easy. It takes all of 15 minutes on the Metro to get into Times Square. From the hotel, you can easily walk to the popular Soho neighborhood.
The Roxy Hotel's 10,000-square-foot central atrium offers a striking vaulted core reminiscent of grand cathedrals. Reaching eight stories high, each of the guest rooms opens up to the heart of the hotel for a magnificent view from above.
Within this main space lies the Roxy Bar and Lounge. If you're wanting the perfect backdrop for some leisure drinks or a late cocktail gathering then this is the place.
With live jazz music it's the ideal place to lounge and relax or to socialize with your fellow hotel guests. The Roxy Bar and Lounge is even popular with the New York natives.
The Roxy Hotel boasts 201 guest rooms and suites which are designed to reflect the luxury of downtown New York. The sleek rooms feature intimate neighborhood views, custom furnishings and high end fixtures, Egyptian cotton bed linens, and free wifi.
The service in The Roxy is superb. Upon checking in to the hotel we were given a complimentary glass of champagne. We knew right then that we would love this hotel. The entire hotel staff is helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable on things to do within the neighborhood.
During our stay the A/C began to malfunction and they went above and beyond to assist us in changing rooms. Afterwards, they treated us to free breakfast for the remainder of our stay. Brett at the front desk is a superstar!
One of the best things about The Roxy Hotel is that it houses a unique jazz club, The Django. This subterranean jazz club will make you feel like you've entered another world. With its vaulted ceilings and walls with paint peeling into different color layers you'll feel like you've been transported to some secret club in Paris.
The Django offers premium crafted cocktails and small plates. If you're wanting to be a bit rowdy then this is where you want to be. It's open only Wednesday through Saturday nights and features some of the best live jazz music you'll find anywhere.
We made a reservation on Friday night and were stunned by the talent of the musicians. Besides being musically inclined, they radiated an exuberant energy that pulsed through the crowd awakening everyone's inner musician.
Right next door to Django is The Roxy Theater. The cinema was built for the moviegoers who want to experience every grain of movie magic in old-fashion glamour. With one screen and 99 seats, The Roxy Theater projects movies in 35mm and digital. Their film catalog specializes in first-run, independent films, foreign, documentaries, art house and genre films, and film classics. Hotel guests get priority access to this intimate venue.
Overall, our entire stay at The Roxy was perfect. Never have I found myself so willing to stay within the confines of my hotel instead of venturing outside. The Roxy Hotel will make your stay in NYC a time to remember with their luxurious amenities and superb entertainment.
